“Would have been nice if one group of investigators or the other had presented their evidence.”

Reid Hayes in Hawaii and the forensic laboratory in Italy prepared confidential reports commissioned by Sheriff Arpaio and owned by him. The reports “courtroom ready” are intended to be presented to a grand jury or court of law only and not to the general public. Premature release of what is in the reports would tip off Barry’s lawyers to what is coming and possibly result in destruction of evidence.

Since the chances of a grand jury being convened on this hover somewhere between zilch and none then why not release it to the general public? If, of course, there is actually anything to release.
