[[I think he was holding back a little and wearing Macgregor out.]]
That’s what i thought too- either holding back, or having trouble figuring conner out- like one fella on bleacher report said- Mayweather isn’t used to going forward- and conner was basically forcing him to do so- but sounds like Mayweather figured him out fine- bided his time and poured it on when it was proper to do so-
like someone said- floyd may have been slow in beginning to help conner save face too- possibility i suppose
Conner really needs to increase his cardio- even in MMA- he looked awful in his fight with diaz concerning his cardio-
Danny “little red” Lopez. Wasn’t that his intro name?
So what happened? KO or decision?
I have great respect for Bruce Lee. Amazing athlete on top of being such a great martial artist.
tko
Thanks. So the referee stopped it?
true Connor has zero cardio
but he hasn’t needed much cardio either except for Diaz
Yup- I think it was the 10’th round- conner wasn’t able to continue
The judges didn’t have it very competitive, I certainly gave the first 3 to McG.
Yup in the tenth
That’s true- I think though he’s gonna run into more fighters who can really take a punch and weather the first round or two- and take him into deep waters- so far he hasn’t had to really except the diaz fight-
Yes, stopped. The referee recognized he didn’t have the boxing ability to defend himself any further.
I’d like to see the first three when it’s out- I wonder if Mayweather is just a slow starter or if conner was really that much better than floyd when he was fresh- reading comments on bleacher report and other sites it seemed like floyd was kinda having a little trouble with conner’s jerky awkward style- but figured it out around round 3 or 4 maybe? Or perhaps was just weathering the storm and waiting for later rounds-
Will be interestingness to see if anything conner threw at him had him in any kind of trouble or not in the first rounds-
Basically, Connor had nothing all night long.
Yeah, I don’t know. Maybe he was feeling him out, Floyd didn’t throw many punches early on.
Ahh I see...thanks.
Yep. Little brother of Ernie "Indian Red" Lopez.
He pounded the crap out of Genzo Kurosawa, yet Kurosawa never faltered. He kept on coming. His blood was splattered all over the ring.
Genzo Kurosawa had a head of stone.
But I was wrong. Kurosaw went the distance. From Wikipedia:
On January 17, 1974, Genzo Kurosaw became the first person to go the distance with Lopez, Lopez winning by a ten-round decision.
that’s what i thought the fight would be like all along- Although
I thought floyd would turn up the heat sooner- and it would be over quick- just based on the couple of conner fights I’ve seen with him losing steam quick- but wasn’t sure how it would go-
well- good thread tonight- although i didn’t see the fight- was interestingness seeing the you tube links and bleacher report site and here to keep up on the rounds-
