No, I haven’t.

I don’t think you can see a lot of the Criterion collection anywhere else with the death of all the rep houses in NYC. Perhaps you can see a lot of these at MOMA but why bother when you can watch a pristine version at home thanks to Filmstruck? And they are not shown on Turner Classics for the most part (maybe the occasional overlap). I saw the original 1933 Les Miserables (French language) with Harry Baur the other night, which was a revelation.

Oh WOW...I haven't seen the 1933 French version; didn't even know it existed; however, have every single other version. ;^) Many thanks for the info!

Did see a LOT of old movies at MOMA, but haven't gone that route in a very long time...too much of a hassle now.

Talking about old French movies...have you ever seen the THE 1927 Abel Gance silent "NAPOLEAN"? I did...with full symphony orchestra, when they were touring it, in the '80s. Now THAT was something else again and in spades!
