Now, here's what is true. Big city union leaders are all progressives. And big city school administrators are all progressives. It's that last group in particular that is destroying education.

The public, political, rubber-on-the-road face of public education is in most of urban America is hard left. Our local school district can always find time, people and money for #BLM support, leftist political protest, transgender awareness, or to bash Trump or denigrate suburban conservatives. If there are conservatives or others within their ranks, you would never know it. For all practical purposes, IMHO they don't exist.

That I most certainly agree with. Liberals in the field of education scream and yell...and they always get their own way. Conservatives are more muted (for various reasons), and so they are steamrolled.

As an example: A friend of mine taught in a big-city school district. She was very conservative, and was not quiet about it. And at a union meeting she asked the leadership why the union never endorsed a Republican candidate. How’s that for tilting at windmills?

Soon after asking that question, she was fired for poor teaching (she was an excellent teacher). The union of course wouldn’t help. And the principal generated enough poor “observations” of her that an appeal would have been useless.
