My x-wife was (and remains) a teacher. Years ago, one of the little angels in her class punched her. Following protocol, she reported the incident to the principal.

The principal’s response was to ask her what she did to provoke the student. It was all her fault, you see, that the little cretin slugged her.

Her dad was tight with some member of the school board and he let him have it. Only with his intervention did the accusations against her stop and the student was suspended for a day or two. If not for her dad, the child would have suffered no punishment whatsoever.

Two days punishment for punching a teacher? And they wonder why the sane people either avoid or quit the profession. If you can’t maintain class discipline you are done from the start and with administration not giving any backing, you are done. And they wonder why we have a nation of idiots.
