Did this Robert Lee refuse to take a knee during the national anthem or attack the country in some other way? I could see that upsetting them. If this guys name reminds viewers of Robert E Lee, and makes them think “the US sucks” that’s a good thing for ESPN, right?

There’s probably some rational reason for this:
1) It’s possible that the viewers ESPN has left are so stupid and ignorant of history that they think the civil war Lee is still alive and ESPN is giving him a platform to spout his anti-American ideas (like they do with Kaepernick, but those viewers like Kaepernick’s ideas).

2) Or maybe the name triggers ESPN employees and the company is concerned about law suits for microaggressions or workplace environment.

3) Or they realize the show won’t go well if the producer dives to a safe space under his desk every time the announcer’s name is mentioned.

4) Or maybe they just hate Asians and see an opportunity to remove him from a broadcast.

Does this mean that the statue of Bruce Lee has to be torn down?
