The proudly flamboyant and provocative Milo Yiannopoulis is scheduled for a repeat performance on C-Span2's "After Words" tonight at 9:00. He discusses his new book Dangerous and his continuing battle for free speech as a gay conservative who has been met with derision and censorship by the leftwing establishment because he doesn't preach what gays are supposed to espouse. He is interviewed by Marji Ross of Regnery, which published his book, and has plenty of opportunity to speak out about topics from social media to the ACLU to Silicon Valley. I'd never seen Yiannopoulis in action before but found this an entertaining hour.
TOPICS: Miscellaneous; Society

During the discussion Yiannopoulis discusses the undue influence Google has on our culture. He talks about how they have sanitized their searches so that conservative content is screened from the results they present. For example, he says if you search on "American Inventors" you have returns which are primarily minorities and females, and prime Americans such as Bell and Edison fall far down on the list. I wasn't able to confirm this myself because I seemingly couldn't get into Google Search without making it may default browser (interesting), but I did find a link to a post which apparently found as Milo did - the first citation is a black who supposedly worked with Bell and Edison, but they fall further down the list. The Wright brothers don't even appear in the top fifty. Yiannopoulis says if you do the same search in a foreign country without this conservative filter, you get a list of American inventors pretty much the way you'd expect from conventional wisdom - amazing.
Link to Google study.....

Thanks for the heads-up. Missed it, but it will be repeated at 12 midnight ET. There is also a show at 11ET called How Trump Won.

You're welcome - I rewatched it at 9 - humility is not one of Milo's strong points, but he does hold your attention - he's starting on a seven month Troll Tour - going to do things like read portions of MLK's "I Have a Dream" speech to college students and tell them Trump wrote it - wants to see how many think it's racist - diabolic....
Lots of good stuff on C-Span - you just have navigate around what's trash and what's downright offensive.....

I like Milo and what he has to say, but he also needs to talk about his huge unresolved issue. That is the idea of adult gay men having sex with underage boys. This is what got him into trouble in the first place. It appears this happened to him and he thinks that’s ok. He needs to be pressed on this, it’s not ok Milo.
The other thing that bothers me about Milo is when he’s interviewed he has this annoying habit of not looking directly at the camera. Either looking down or away. Most experts think that when people are talking to you and they can’t look you in the eye, that is a sign they are lying. I think this is part of his personality quirk and he’s not lying, but it comes across that way.

Really enjoyed the interview with Milo...

I think this is part of his personality quirk and hes not lying, but it comes across that way...I don't think he's lying - the quick way he glances back and forth and the rapid way he talks -"pressured speech" - suggest that he's anxious or nervous - probably a normal way to feel if for no other reason than the verbal attacks he must encounter from those who disagree with him - I didn't know he had gotten in trouble because of liking the little boys too much, but he did slide by it sneakily in the interview - said that after you've done a lot of talking it's to be expected that you might say something a bit wrong - never acknowledged the real problem which really is not ok....
