I was initially hesitant about using Samsung Pay but when I read up on it I found out it was much more secure than physical cards.

Is that security dependent on the security you set for opening your phone (I’m just using a 4 digit code)? Or is there additional security within the Samsung Pay app?

Asking because I have an S8 and the program, but I’ve always been a bit suspicious of bringing the charge process into the phone.

Yesterday, you couldn’t use this system or even a credit card north of San Francisco from about 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Their internet card/phone reading system was down.

That was the first thing I disabled when I got my S8. It’s not that I’m naturally distrusting (I am), I’m just worried about losing the phone and someone buying Jack Ma out with the Samsung Pay.

RFID readers on the terminals have repeatedly broken since Google Pay first appeared. When Apple Pay finally rolled out, many stores finally replaced broken readers with functional ones. Just before those should have started breaking, companies rolled out new readers to incorporate chip technology.

Nothing new about this, just crappy device readers. What's worse is that these ones didn't even last a full two years. And since all it takes to fix the issue is for the customer to pull out the appropriate card they already have with them, likely won't be fixed.

Using a phone to pay for things at a store?
That is like magic!

I saw a young lady in her 20’s pay at Target with her phone and had no idea how. I use a debit card myself and when I see a person usually older then me using a checkbook I think they are in the dark ages. Now I guess I am in the dark ages.....
