Neither Ulysses Grant nor Benjamin Franklin ever owned a slave.

I really don’t know who owned slaves or not. I personally don’t care. I thought this was funny because the level these people take today in broad daylight destroying property ,just because they can and no one cares to stop them but later says charges will be done after the destruction. Regardless who is factually correct on a slave owner or not in the past is irrelevant when you see Adults allowed to destroy statues or monuments.Completely overboard.

Franklin owned two slaves. One named George and the other named King. He freed them later in life and became an abolitionist. Grant owned at least one slave that he freed in 1859.
So yes, they both owned slaves.
