What I read was they pulled the permit 15 minutes before the scheduled time but a judge reversed it. Of course, it was too late, then the police funneled the permit holders into their attackers.

Correct me if I am wrong.

The local attempt to move the march, and then the federal court order allowing it happened earlier. Apparently the local government, ignoring the court order, decided to disperse the legally permitted protestors, leading to the ensuing violence.

The state and local government failed in their duty to protect the protestors as repugnant as some of them were from violence directed at them. They also failed to disperse the violent counter protestors, ultimately leading to a situation where deaths and many serious injuries resulted.

The Governor declared a ‘state of emergency’ and ended the permitted protest. And apparently the cops scattered...forcing the permitted group to funnel out of the park onto the streets filled with counter-protesters.

No that’s wrong. They applied for a permit well in advance we’re denied a judge overturned that and gave them the permit. Right before the rally was to start the city declared an “unlawful assembly” and ordered everyone to disperse.
