The formula was immensely successful. So much so that the term “Tiffany setting” has reached Kleenex status—it’s now used colloquially throughout the jewelry industry to describe any multi-pronged solitaire setting, Tiffany or no. And it happens to be the most sought-after engagement ring style to date, according to the Tiffany camp. (“We believe that is still the case today,” confirmed a spokesperson for Jewelers of America.)
