When I had my Mustang GT I’d look down and be doing 100 thinking I was going 60.

I didn’t know a Versa could go that fast.

I'd never think to push a Versa past 70 or so. The damned things are really bottom-rung transportation; akin to the 1980s Hyundai sedans. IIRC, Nissan had problems with airbags in that model - they'd fire if a door was slammed hard.

She wants them to be NASCAR racers when they grow up. She was teaching them the ropes of speed

I did not travel freeways much when I had more hot cars or bikes for that matter. Not a lot of opportunity for other than short speed runs. 140 was about it before the fun had to stop.

Coming back west from Lytle Creek (San Berdo area) on the 210 and recording on GPS, was amazed to see I had been cruising 90+mph. In a 2001 4Runner, which you would think the speed would have been apparent.

Sigh...my 95 Mustang Cobra SVT was the same..God I loved that car. I could floor it and feel my stomach pressed against the back of the bucket seat. And the rumble of the engine amping up..sweet! Great memories.

Without the weight of the Kids in the Car, she probably could have hit 120.<<<

Nope...would have airborne without them....

Test drove a 94/95 Cobra and was singularly unimpressed for the $ they wanted.

A set of AFR heads and a Cobra intake on my 94 was far faster. Cobra brakes were a GOOD thing to be added. Thank God for parts interchangeability.

Ford tried to trade off on the earlier SVT product reputation with a gussied up GT that was only marginally faster, but a lot more expensive.

I’d tell you a story about a 68 427Corvette with 10-day plates at 4 am in the morning on I-95...going 143mph (clocked)....but I regress...

Id just got home from 2 yrs in VN and I was invincible.....luckily i didn’t know they could fly at 145 like my helicopter....

I spent the summer moving cars for a friends collection.

I got a warning for 87 mph in a Delorean tricked out as a time machine. Had a lot of cops show up to take pictures.

When asked where I was going in such a hurry, I said "1955".

The next day I went to Waffle house in a 55 Chevy convertible and ran into the same bunch of cops. They bought me breakfast.

I had a lot of fun and got to drive some really exotic cars.

The 68 had to have much better aerodynamics than my 67 with the same engine (tri-carb 435hp). About the time I hit 135, the front end had risen so high I had a hard time seeing where it was going.

The car was not done accelerating by any means.

115 isn’t all that fast in a modern car. The bald tires though. She deserves jail for that.

True - but a Nisan Versa? Shame on her....;-)

I think Im saying the same thing.....front end was so light i couldnt keep it in 3 lanes of interstate....a couple of more MPH and id have been airborne

and the same story...I had a lot of tach left....

I’d guess that’s an estimate from a police car chasing her rather than radar or beibg clocked.

The cat is ‘drag limited’ to 110 according to test drivers, so it might get faster on a long enough downhill grade.

Felony charges are warranted.
