I dont know what the context of this was, but I really wish people would stop tweeting stupid stuff like that, even as a joke. It’s the nuclear button to run you out on a rail regardless of your point.

The context is stated clearly in the article and even posted on the FR thread's excerpt:

"The tweet was directed at Angelo Carusone, the president of Media Matters for America. Lord wrote an op-ed calling Media Matters a “fascist” group for launching a campaign to get advertisers for Fox News’ Sean Hannity to pull their support for him."

With a minimum understanding of English it is seen as an insult and not a salute.

Your sheepish advice to surrender should embarrass you.

What does it matter? Eric Bolling was suspended on a completely baseless 3rd party accusation made by some hack liberal journalist.

Many, many people have been fired or harassed because of something terrible or even something innocent they have tweeted or posted on facebook. I stay away from them.
