It sounds like the author's projecting a little and taking every criticism of Silicon Valley as a critique of liberalism.
That would be like taking any criticism here of somebody conservative as an assertion of liberal or leftist views.
But Aaron Sorkin, say, could be scathing about Zuckerberg, without changing his political point of view.

Not at all. The movie made light of liberalism and its groupthink while it also made fun of the Silicon Valley lifestyle. That lifestyle is a young adult view that everyone needs to be best friends and hang out together; the liberal utopian dream of a social security baby-blanket.
