That was such a well cast series !

Yes it was. Every single actor was totally believable in the part. All without CGI or other stuff. I loved that series, it was right up my alley. And who could not resist the gorgeous countryside of Yorkshire in the shots? Or seeing beautiful livestock?

Back in 1983 ( 2 years before moving to Japan ) my friend and I spent a 9 days in North Yorkshire and its environs . Went to Askrigg where the “ Skeldale House “ you see in the show is . Took pics in fron , of course . While there got a signed copy of the real James Herriot’s book “ James Herriot’s Yorkshire which I highly recommend for all fans of the series . Not sure if it is still in print , though .

I remember a much younger actor in the part of the veterinarian—and an antique car—and had abandoned TV altogether—since.

Was I following an older series?
