He was a first class low life in the way he treated Tom Landry. I haven’t ever heard him apologize for that.
Landry was a great coach, but it was time for a change. They had gone 3-13 the previous year. Maybe it could have been handled better, I agree. But eventually Jerry at least did put Tom in the “Ring of Honor.”
ANY 3-13 coach should expect to be fired, any time, any way.

He went and told him personally that he was making a change for head coach. Was that not his right? I have seen a lot of head coaches treated worse than Landry in being let go.
Landry’s time was past and he had a good run as coach, almost 30 years.
