Movies can't keep up with television these days. The advent of affordable HDTV home theaters and streaming on-demand has taken TV to a whole new level.

We are enjoying a TV renaissance and this is thanks in great part to HBO. More people will be talking about Season 7 of Game of Thrones than any film playing at the theater this year.

And with streaming, show runners and writers have been given a lot more leeway to pack each episode with those cool little Easter Eggs that you don't always catch the first time because they know after an episode airs, many viewers are going to watch it again. This is half the reason shows are so great today.

TV today is truly the best it has ever been. Nobody cares about movies anymore.

Agreed. You rarely see films getting the kinds of buzz or fan dedication that Game of Thrones and Netflix shows get.
