I saw Waring's Pennsylvanians perform in 1982. Although it was a far cry from their dance band days of the 1920's--more like their glee club of the 1940's--they still did some of their big hits like Sleep, Collegiate and Dem Bones.

In 1984, my parents worked with Fred Waring at a choral music workshop at Penn State. The day after the workshop ended, Waring passed away.
