Melania Trump is approaching her 200th day as First Lady (its on Monday, August 7 to be precise), and in her short time at the White House, one that has been plagued by turmoil and scandal, she has redefined the politics of fashion. She laid the foundation with a classic, Camelot-inspired aesthetic on Inauguration Day, working with Ralph Lauren to create a powder blue jacket and coordinating dress that garnered comparisons to Jackie Kennedys Inauguration outfit by Oleg Cassini.
In codesigning her Inaugural Ball gown with dresser-in-chief Hervé Pierre, Trump seemed to be following Kennedys lead againshe often worked with designer Oleg Cassini on her wardrobe.(snip)
However, Jackie Kennedy isnt the only First Lady who Trump has looked to for inspiration. Trumps conservative, yet opulent approach to dressing mimics that of Nancy Reagan. Like Reagan, Trump has favored strongly tailored pieces in what is known as Nancy Red and she has gravitated towards traditional silhouettes, including the coatdress (Alice Roi and The Row), militaristic suiting (Altuzarra, Karl Lagerfeld, and Michael Kors), and fit-and-flare (Delpozo, Jil Sander, Mary Katrantzou, Simone Rocha) dresses and sheaths (Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino) all familiar to the Fancy Nancy years in the White House. The First Lady has made her brand loyalties clear as well, finding a fan and friend in Stefano Gabbana, whose fanciful floral confections made headlines during the G20 for their extravagant look and cost.(snip)
Where her predecessor Michelle Obama was a savvy and sophisticated shopper, often incorporating price-conscious pieces from brands such as J.Crew and Converse into her daily wardrobe, Trump has stuck to luxury fashion across the board. Even her off-duty wardrobe is filled with high-end designer brands of the most opulent kind,

I added one more from the inauguration :-)
Ubama is just full of it. He knows what a joke that was.
Melania is just Glowing!
Jesse Jackson has them, too!
I like the floral shirtwaist dress she wore in Europe.
“-———with eyes so far apart she looked like a flounder.”
Nonsense,she was a beautiful woman.
.
Is this the one you are referring to?
You’re right. That figure sure slimmed down to fit in that blue dress.
Yes-old fashioned, kind of a throwback.
I don't believe that was always true.

First of all, so what? She made her own money; her husband is no slouch in that department either.
Second of all, I think it is befitting that the wife of the most powerful man in the world be well-groomed and attractive.
How many times did the former First Lady look disheveled and frumpy, especially in that famous picture of her walking up the stairs with the wives of two foreign leaders (France and Italy I believe). Carla Bruni (hope I'm remembering her name correctly) and the other woman were lovely, slim, in gorgeous dresses, while Michelle Obama had this huge puffy skirt and probably another boob belt.
Then there's that other pic that shows her in rumpled shorts coming off of AF One.
Kudos on her supposed frugality (hah!), but she just didn't present America very well on the world stage.
LOL! We are probably showing our age, but I remember that skit from her variety show. It was hilarious! She is a very funny lady.
When she and Betty White pass on, it will be a real loss for the country. They appeared together on "Hot in Cleveland."
(p.s., speaking of the variety show..."How much does a Tim Conway?"
"About 170 pounds (or whatever number he said)." LOL!
When all else fails, HUMOR. :-)
I thought I was the only one who noticed how far apart Jackie’s eyes were. LOL
He face reminded me of a frog’s face.
And that put on voice of hers. Laughable.
Yes, that absurd little-girl simpering whisper. The Chanel-inspired Givenchy suits were elegant, of course,
Learning the Latin prayers was a challenge. My team captain said if you get stuck, say "Sack of potatoes, sack of peas" over and over. One day we were short handed, and only myself and one other rookie was there. During the Confiteor, while both of us were saying "Sack of potatoes, sack of peas" the priest stopped. Busted. He never said anything, but we both learned the words very quickly
Me, too. Both the wearer and the dress were simply lovely :-)
