Think about how much worse life would be without the internet. We wouldnt have video chats on Skype. We wouldnt have baby pandas sneezing on YouTube. And we wouldnt have Chelsea Clinton getting into an argument over philosophy and Nazism on Twitter.
It started when the former First Daughter tweeted a Washington Post article on Friday about an arson attack at a Phoenix LGBT center, along with the message The banality of evil a phrase coined by 20th-century Jewish philosopher Hannah Arendt in her classic book Eichmann in Jerusalem.
Brooklyn College political science professor Corey Robin thought that Clinton had misunderstood the phrase. This is what happens when you know something as a cliche or slogan rather than as an idea, he tweeted at her. Totally the opposite of what Arendt meant. Sidwell Friends, Stanford, Oxford, Columbia: all that money for fancy schools, and nowhere did you learn the meaning of this phrase?
But, to Robins surprise, Clinton responded, asking whether Robin had actually read the Post article and noted that she was thankful to have read Arendt at Sidwell & Stanford.

You know, there’s self-aggrandizement in FR dialogue, too. More often than not. But that’s not surprising at all.
I think he was understandably surprised—as I was—that in order to defend herself Clinton ended up defended a phrase discussing evil.
Clinton is well-credentialed. But educated? No.....
No, the concern is not that Chelsea mentioned evil, it is that she proved she knows nothing about Arendt or Eichmann, but likes to name-drop and throw a phrase around.... “the banality of evil.”
I'll bet that that cipher is thankful to have read Alinsky and Bill Ayers there as well.
OK, she dropped a phrase. And I see more than that. Her mistake was that she defended it, perhaps out of self-interest, but it was a mistake. You don’t talk about evil. The fact that she did defend it, is quite telling—a particular concept of evil is in her system and it comes to light on Twitter, because no MSM outlet would ever, ever, allow that. Evil must stay on the periphery—it must remain inexplicable and exculpable. That is what makes it banal.
Is Hillary trying to shove Chelsea down our throats?
Plus, I have no reason to doubt that she did encounter Arendt in school. To Arendt’s credit, student learn that evil is something and not nothing. That is immensely significant because it makes the question, what is evil, legitimate. The most convenient explanation of evil is that it is peripheral and a matter of aberrant psychosis.
When ever she puts something on twitter she gets torn to pieces...and she's stupid enough to come back for more...
She is so envious of Ivanka that she can't help herself...her parents (all three of them) are total trash, and here Ivanka and her family are running the most powerful Nation in the world, a place I'm sure her evil, vile mother promised her a role in...gone in a flash, never to happen in her life time...
There will be a woman POTUS, but not a Clinton or another piece of trash, it will be a Lady, who is smart, a Margaret Thatcher type of woman, who is well liked by all, except the trash the liberal idiots don't like...
Typical pseudo-intellectual liberal. She obviously got in over her head (not difficult).
The larger problem here is that there are so very many like her.
Thanks for posting this
Why? The person who engaged her did us all a big favor. These people need to be called out and shown as the frauds they are.
Reminds me of “A Fish Called Wanda”
Wanda: Oh, right! To call you stupid would be an insult to stupid people! I’ve known sheep that could outwit you. I’ve worn dresses with higher IQs. But you think you’re an intellectual, don’t you, ape?
Otto West: Apes don’t read philosophy.
Wanda: Yes they do, Otto. They just don’t understand it. Now let me correct you on a couple of things, OK? Aristotle was not Belgian. The central message of Buddhism is not “Every man for himself.” And the London Underground is not a political movement. Those are all mistakes, Otto. I looked them up.
I can hardly wait till Chelsea and Corey get into a philosophical discussion of the murders of Jessica Chambers of Mississippi and Meing-Chen Hsiao of Taiwan by one QUINTON VERDELL TELLIS. Although Tellis crimes do not reach the outrageous level of fire-bombing a Phoenix LGBT center, his horrific murderous assaults must contain some kind of philosophical discussion material. http://www.clarionledger.com/story/news/local/2016/07/07/indictment-louisiana-victim-tortured-death/86811406/
Yes, it's a huge problem. Unfortunately getting a ‘higher education’ doesn't mean being challenged and learning to think deeply for oneself. It now means ‘learning’ the specific set of approved ‘correct’ things that liberal education has decided is required to become part of the club of ‘the intellectual and educated’. Doesn't matter if you can reason for yourself and add to the community of knowledge - as long as you can puff yourself up and utter a quote from Shakespeare, or Kant, or Sartre, etc.
What passes for modern ‘intellectualism’ is actually suppressing creativity and decidedly selecting for groupthink. The world is full of smart people with ideas. Who they are is not defined by what university they hold diplomas from.
Every time dumb@*s Chelsea tries to sound “smart” and “clever” on Twitter, she gets stomped into a 4 foot diameter throw rug. It’s a actually a lot of fun to watch.
I wonder if she’s ever secretly done a DNA test comparison between, Her, Bill Clinton and Webb Hubbell?
She loves to talk about how much she reads all the time. I just don’t believe it.
If Chelsea Clintons brains were gunpowder, setting em off wouldn’t even lift a bottlecap.
The banality of evil Chelsea Clinton.
