Many (most? all?) Facebook shops provide meals on site, free to all staff, even contractors. As in: no charge/no food card/nada. Just walk up, grab a plate, and dish up. There is usually laundry service available, too.

The high cost of living in Silicon Valley also includes a two-year waiting list to get a spot at a trailer park.

In Palo Alto, $2000 is almost certainly for a studio. Sure, that's larger than a car, but add three more people to that space? I'd just as soon live in the car.
Cost of living in that area is a significant factor in why I've never interviewed with Facebook. I could probably negotiate the raise I'd need to cover the costs, but even then, I'm not sure any amount of money is worth apartment dwelling and facing Silicon Valley traffic.

If you are living in your car, you dont run a nonprofit.
There are needs and there are wants. Have to know the difference and be able to prioritize within both.

Ghetto vs english: it depends where she is and who she is around. At home or talking with black friends, way different than white roommates and work.

I take it that Facebook hired her without an in-person or Skype interview.

And there is a $15 minimum wage at FB, so with minimal planning and saving, you shouldn’t have to live out of your car unless you have other problems.

Agreed. Something about this woman’s story doesn’t add up.

She hasn't missed a day with 6-8 meals and snacks plus 6 packs of sugar filled sodas for a long time.

I’ve seen a number of articles about Silicon Valley tech employees who make ‘good’ money but are living in RVs, vans, and yeah, sometimes even their cars. It’s wild.
I think some are lured by the prestige of working for FB or other big name tech outfits and are willing to deal with the housing situation for the experience. But there are tech jobs in a lot of cities; you don’t need to be on the street.
If Pinky is just an office or food service worker, she needs to do like a lot of other Americans have done and get up and move.

Trade your car in for a used Uhaul. More room for your EBT food.

She made her bed and now complains that it’s uncomfortable. It’s not her employer’s fault that she can’t do math.

Zuckerberg should set this lady up with a roomy.
His company should work on housing as a company benefit.

It’s worse than that. Her “home” is a custom-painted and custom-interior Mercedes-Benz. Prioritization is not one of her skillzzzz.
