There was a fad in the 50s of chocolate covered ants and french fried grasshoppers. A friend’s parents had leftovers from a party. We ate them. Not at all bad. The ants were like chocolate-covered raisins and french fried grasshoppers tasted like the French’s canned fried onions.
I remember my stepfather had a can of fried grasshoppers in the cupboard, back in the 60s-70s. As far as I know, that can was never opened.
I’ve eaten chocolate covered grasshoppers (tasty) and fried worms.
