My first XM radio was a boom box. It was great. I could carry it around the house, in the car, everywhere. I finally had to stop using it because the LCD was no longer readable.

I now have a little refurbished unit that XM sent for free. It plugs into the house stereo system.

That's how I started out. I had this Sirius boombox and I could remove the receiver from my car and plug it into the boombox when I got home. Except I was always messing with the antenna (connected to the boombox by a 15-foot flimsy cable), finding just the right position for it.

Now I use the app and send the audio to my speakers by either smartphone or tablet. Very convenient as my Wi-Fi has a strong signal. I also like listening to the On Demand shows that the XM/Sirius App gives you. So I can stream shows like Celtic Crush or Tom Petty's Buried Treasure any time I want.
