I like the Dead and punk......is there something wrong with me?

Never quite geehawed with Phish, though. Maybe I need to listen to them more.

In fairness, the Ramones could make three chords sing. Not every band can.

Beware of Mr. Baker :-)

Saw it. He makes Keith Richards look like a choirboy.

> Cream’s live shows were renowned for their long instrumental jams. They pretty much invented the practice, or at least that’s what I’ve been told (I was a bit young back then).

That honor would more go to the Yardbirds, where Eric Clapton got his start.

My pleasure. If you like jams, I’d suggest checking out their live recordings from their Clapton era. (Or their Jeff Beck era, or their Jimmy Page era, and no, those aren’t coincidences.)

will do, thanks!

I was aware that those legends were all associated with the Yarbirds but I haven’t known the Yarbirds much of their music .... will check it out! They did “For Your Love” right? heh heh

They did indeed. They also did lots of blues covers, which is where the jams are. (When they started, they didn’t know a lot of songs, so they’d jam around them to stretch them.)

Another good “Jam” is The Who’s “My Generation” on “Live at Leeds.”

Definitely. For some reason I always liked Glad to see you go - warped lyrics and all. Peppy punk music without the Johnny Rotten type snarl.

I liked Phish until I realized that the infamous “Gin and Juice” remake was not them at all, but some band called The Gourds, or something.

That is one whacked out song.

Phish sings a song about the Founding Fathers writing a famous document...on marijuana.
