Completely unrelated to the thread but I saw your screen name and it occurred to me that you were thinking of packing a picnic and going up on the Blue Ridge Parkway for the rhododendron and flame azalea bloom, did you make it? If so how was it? I’ve always thought it was a beautiful time of year up there, not nearly as crowded as fall color, so long as you manage to avoid rain or a thunderstorm. Thunderstorms and mountain tops don’t mix, not for people they don’t.

We happen to buy a house that’s near The side of Lake Watauga that gets very few people on it, for some reason. I actually think it’s prettier than the more popular side, it just has less amenities. But the AT goes through near there so it is perfect.
How are things in Virginia? My husband just went on travel to the northern part of Virginia, a little bit south of DC. He said the whole drive up was beautiful.
