Not my kids. My daughter back in 5th grade was warned by her teacher to not espouse her views too loudly on how the global warming thing was a farce - she might get teased and picked on by her fellow students.
“That’s okay - I can take care of myself.” (5th grade!)
Shortly afterwards they had to do a science poster. She did hers on why man-made global warming was a farce. The teacher gave her an “A”.
This is the same daughter that last year, in college now, after the election the prof said that “I know it will be hard to learn today, so I thought we should just go around the room and everyone can think of good things in their lives, and what they are thankful for.”
Kids were saying they are thankful for their families, pets, etc.
My kid: “I’m thankful that Donald Trump was elected president!”
“Yeah it was pretty funny dad - one girl actually shrieked, and several others had audible gasps. I was going to mention something about keeping the criminal Hillary Clinton out of the White House, but figured that would just be mean.”
When I was in 5th grade they taught us it gets warm in the summer and cold in the winter. :-)
