I'm looking for a Chrome extension that will make all embedded videos "Click to start." Auto starting videos, like Foxnews, et al are annoying and use lots of bandwidth on my metered connection.
I have looked at Chrome Extensions and can't find what I'm looking for. Lots of stop autoplay for Youtube, but that's not what I'm looking for. I need something universal.
Wonderful - now, how do I turn off the ‘touchpad’ on a laptop...
On my ASUS laptop, I can just go to the Keyboard Properties in the Control Panel and turn it off.
I can also set it to turn off automagically when I plug in a mouse.
Scriptsafe is usually the best extension for this problem.
Disable HTML5 Autoplay is also a viable solution.
Thank you!
I concur. I utterly detest autoplay. I click to read an article, and am reading it when suddenly the speakers start blaring some unrelated tripe at me.
BEGONE, autoplay, and may your creator suffer a long slow painful death, SOON!
I used to use photobucket to post pics, but they stopped free 3rd party hosting recently. What site(s) do you recommend?
Bump!
did you ever find anything universal ?
I added “flashcontrol” extension for chrome.
so far, so good for Opera and SlimJet - all autoplay seem to be stopped in it’s tracks.
For IE, i disabled Flash - still testing.
I haven’t done anything with Edge.
On some pages (Fox news is one), as you scroll past the video, it pops up at the bottom.
I haven’t found a way to stop it.
