Tyrion is also the last legitimate heir of the Lannister line. Once Cersi dies, he becomes next in line for king. He will also need Sansa to provide him with heirs, long term.
The Targaryens intermarried all the time. That’s one of the reasons it was thought that they were mad.
No, that doesn't make any sense does it? ;)
This season we find out, what most people had believed, that Jon's mother is Lyanna Stark who died shortly after giving birth to Jon. It is believed that Raegar Targaryen is the father. So, the series and the book both are in sync on this topic; it just took a long time to get there.
I am guessing that the peaceful replacement for Cersei upon her death is Tyrion as hand of the king and Sansa as his wife becoming heirs, or their children the heirs, to the throne. Then Daenrys has heirs she can train and trusts though she cannot have children.
Whether Jaimie takes over Casterly Rock or Tyrion’s children inherit that, too, are TBD.
This model allows Sansa to be the mother of princes and princesses she expected to be in the beginning.
Thank you kindly for the replies, I obviously haven’t read the books and don’t care about spoilers....Just wanted to know the truth! This really please me as most of my favorite characters are Starks (including Snow), with the exception of Daenerys and Tyrion.
I’m glad the dwarf is with house Targaryen now.
I don’t think Catelyn will make a reappearance. In the books the character she presumably is meant to replace is still alive and kicking in the series. I agree with your favorites with the addition of Lady Lyanna Mormont, the niece of Jorah Mormont (Dani’s longtime admirer and right but oft banished hand). She’s a new series character but already one I’m fascinated with. I hope she continues to play an important role.
