A proper Maryland crabcake is genetic. You have to have some of the Chesapeake watershed in your DNA to make one right. I look at packages of frozen Maryland style crabcakes in the supermarket freezer, made by some seafood house in Florida, and just toss 'em back in. 99% junk fish, 1% junk crabmeat, no Blue in it at all, filler, and maybe a little Old Bay-style seasoning for flavor. Even a dollop of Worcestershire and McCormick's tartar sauce can't save 'em.

Yeah, Mom swears by the crabcakes at G&M Restaurant in Linthicum Heights, but I can’t see paying $51 for three of them. Besides, Connie just let me buy an AR-15 for my birthday (on top of the Magellan fishing shirts she got me). I don’t wanna push it.
