I'm a huge Churchill fan and WWII history buff. This is on my must see list.
This period in the War I find fascinating. The French had collapsed, Russia was still a German ally and the U.S. was hopelessly mired in isolationism. Yet the Brits fought on, alone. It looks like there's some Hollywood in this, but according to Winston's history the War Cabinet never considered negotiations, never even discussed the idea. Amazing, considering what they were up against.
I think Churchill considered the idea that they would lose Great Britain. He was determined that they would fight on from the countries of the commonwealth.
Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, etc. along with the Navy.
