That surprises me because I’d think the husbands are more traditional.

I guess I would expect Asian/American pairings in a place like San Francisco, where the Chinese have been there for so long (many have no accents at all, and they are really completely integrated in the society/culture). It is first place I ever saw a Chinese cop.

My family lived in San Diego from 1970 to 1975. There were Filipino families in our neighborhood and school then who were second-generation. Thus, I think there are a certain number of people of Filipino heritage who are pretty much like us.
