I am sure the AP Stylebook instructs writers to use “they,” “them,” and “their” where “he,” “him,” and “his” are correct.
It has gotten to the absurd point that CONSERVATIVE writers are saying things like: “If your SON comes home and tells you that THEY...”
I am seeing this atrocity on FR all the time, both in the articles and comments.
