want kids to see this?

If a very large area, usually at least 5000 acres, of land can be freed of human activity then a core area can be created there. This is where the large predators, like wolves, cougar, grizzly bear, etc. have been or will be reintroduced.

Rewilding is “the scientific argument for restoring big wilderness based on the regulatory roles of large predators,” according to Soul and Reed Noss in their landmark 1998 Wild Earth article “Rewilding and Biodiversity.”>

IMHO there is no scientific, cultural, intelligent, logical, or any other reason for the classic nincompoopery called rewilding.

Our forefathers knew what they were doing when they got rid of dangerous wild animals that eat humans and livestock.

Maybe one exception would be the wholesale slaughter of buffalo, but then they would have been competition to the livestock industry. Still a large herd would have benefited the Indians considerably.

5000 acres isn’t a very big area when it comes to large predators. Wolves, bear, and cougars can travel out of that area in less than half a day easy.
