When I was in college, we had "heard" about anal sodomy for straight people, but it was universally assumed that it was something a rather beastly guy might pay to do to a prostitute. It was rank whoredom.

Why? Because anal is dirty, disgusting, diseased and dangerous. And there's nothing in it for the girl: erotically, emotionally, or any other way. It does not feel good on any level. It feels like you're being cynically used. Which you are.

Above all, it is not making love. Not even by analogy. Not even close.

But now I guess all our 12-year-olds are being prepped to be sluts. Why? It tears my heart out.

If I were to tell you what it makes me want to do to the editors of TeenVogue, I'd have to hit the Abuse button on myself.

Sex is something you do with someone specifically your spouse. It’s mutually satisfying for both parties.

All other forms or sexual activity, oral, anal, whatever, are something you do TO someone.

That’s not what relationships are about.

I would add that it’s always been assumed that acceptance of the act of sodomy as a component of sexual activity between a man and a woman had the impact of increasing the acceptance of homosexuality as a natural state of being. That is why my first reaction to a “teen fashion magazine encouraging girls to engage in anal intercourse and minimizing the dangers” is that it’s just a targeted effort for promoting homosexuality.
