Jaluit was a major Japanese seaplane base.

It was raided several times by the US Navy.

It was even the used for a 2nd Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor using H8K Emily flying boats in early 42’.

All kinds of reasons for a little scrap of aluminum to still be in the open and for there to be remnants of a wheeled dolly on an island close by.

Another explosive and buried fact is that the body of Amelia Earhart was found on the moon by the first astronauts who landed there , and who was it lying next to?-—none other than Alice Kramden!!

What about the Japanese ship in the background and the object on the barge it was towing?

I watched this special and was quite impressed by it. Certainly not Al Capone’s Vault level.

The two photo’s are clearly the same, no doubts about that. but, could the Japanese credits be incorrect? Could the Japanese source be citing the wrong date for when the photo was taken?

I think the photo clearly proves that the Earhart flight was really two years earlier than reported, and the deep state lied about it all these years. ;-)

I still think that the show’s premise and Fred Groener’s book about AE crash landing on Mili Atoll and dying on Saipan are correct.

I agree. I'm not sure about this recently-discovered photo, but I believe the eyewitness accounts by Marshall Islanders. And I hope someone can find the original photo of the Electra recovery from which the Marshall Islands commemorative stamp was made.

...a Tokyo-based blogger unearthed the same photograph in the archives of the National Diet Library, Japan’s national library.

The image was part of a Japanese-language travelogue about the South Seas that was published almost two years before Earhart disappeared. Page 113 states the book was published in Japanese-held Palau on 10 October 1935...

It must be easily available then. Let’s see it. It’s key to the whole story.

Yes, I remember that being said. I would expect to find a bunch of bone fragments in the vicinity of a crematorium. You would think there would be documentation of the previous expeditions?

The Lockheed 10 was a popular aircraft that entered service in 1935.

Australian airlines bought some.

If it’s even a Lockheed 10 on the barge.

These are the same ‘experts’ that misidentified Earhart, Noonan, and even the ship towing the barge.

Crowdstrike wasn’t brought up

Sure it was ...they went to to detail about Shawn Henry who was lead of the show is also the Chief Security Officer of Crowdstrike It was the part of the show’s bonafide about this guy ...I kept laughing when they kept showing a photograph of this guy with Attorney-General Eric Holder like that would give him credibility

Fyi The the photos already seems to been debunked

it was found have been published in 1935 Japanese publication ....

that’s 2 years before Amelia Earhart was lost

On that photo

“In an English-language post, the blogger explains that ‘the photograph was first published in Palau under Japanese rule in 1935, in a photo book ... So the photograph was taken at least two years before Amelia Earhart disappear[ed] in 1937 and a person on the photo was not her.’”

Some strong evidence that the plane crashed on the Atoll is established by recovered parts of a plane matching exactly the rolled (reinforced) metal on the front of the plane

Wasn't a statement made in the documentary that no American aircraft crashed within 5 miles of supposed crash site on Mili Atoll? Given storm surges associated with Pacific typhoons, possible tsunami activity, and drifting due to normal current activity, wouldn't it be possible (although perhaps improbable) that the part could have come from another plane? Was rolled metal a uniquely American process or could the part have come from another country's plane (probably Japan)?

The other major competing theory of a crash on Gardner Island and death as castaways uses the window panel as its definitive proof. Like a fingerprint, we're told. Sounds good until you hear descriptions that it 'mostly matches' the panel on Earhart's plane. I'm skeptical of some of their claims, knowing that they are actively raising money for another expedition to Gardner Island. The wreckage of the SS Norwich City can account for some of the recovered debris and the fact that the island was once inhabited, then abandoned, then home to shipwreck survivors for awhile could account for campfire remnants and discarded items.

but they just did not think clearly about how difficult it might be to hit an island target in the midst of the vast Pacific given the technology and conditions they worked with

That was part of the speculation on the Mili Atoll theory. It was speculated that they took off with extra fuel tanks so that if they couldn't locate Howland Island that they would have enough fuel to return to the Gilbert Islands (which I referred to incorrectly in an earlier post as the Solomon Islands). According to the Mili Atoll theory because their original flight path was too far north, when they turned and flew due west, they were north of the Gilbert Island and hit the southern-most of the Marshall Islands, Mili Atoll.

There was a link to the book containing the photograph in the original article. CLICK HERE.

While the existence of the photo does not disprove any of the conspiracy theories about Earhart's disappearance, it does shoot down the "startling proof" that was advertised on the (alleged) History Channel*. If you take away the photo, the special shown Sunday night was just another Amelia Earhart re-hash.

* Unless the book containing the photo turns out to be a hoax.

I didn’t hear anything about Crowdstrike. but another post of mine brings up the devastating fact that the key photo was from two years earlier than the disappearance. Maybe that was a later post though....

Of course not.

It was Marco Rubio.

The back of his head was a dead giveaway.

Have you examined the "source page of that link ? The book can be moved around on that link.
And you can open the book's image source in a separate window. It'a been photo-shopped.
So I seriously doubt that the link proves it was published on "10 October 1935, almost two years before Earhart disappeared."
