Right now on TV my favorite villain is
Simcoe from the AMC series - Turn: Washington’s Spies
It’s interesting that the real Simcoe is viewed as a hero in Canada, with several elementary schools and one town (I think !) named after him.

After the American Revolution, General Simcoe became Lieutenant Governor of Canada, founded the city which became Toronto, and abolished slavery in Canada decades before it was abolished in the remainder of the British Empire.
