This amazing video fly-through of the Carlsbad Caverns stairs is comprised of multiple individual scan stations using an HDR Pano Photo textured point cloud rendered in Pointools.

Thank you for the tour. Caverns seen years ago From the looks of the stairs, those must have been off-limits and unrevealed. Certainly not remembered.

What does stay embedded in memory was the total blackness when the lights were doused for a moment.

caves are now dry. When they paved the parking lot, rain water stopped seeping into the ground. Lost a lot of the beauty and mystery of the cave.

Try this one. A hatch is inset in the original entry, blocking a substantial airflow accompanied by sound effects, which inspired the name “Moaning Caverns”. A very tall spiral staircase allows access.

All I remember are the blisters from Carlsbad. It’s nothing but a big hole compared to the beauty of Texas caves like Sonora and Longhorn.
