It must be noted that a surprising number of “Republican” consultants like Dowd guided the party during the Bush years and are now the loudest critics of Trump on the “news” stations - they are always the token “conservatives” or “Republicans” such as Stuart Stevens, Nicole Wallace, Dowd, that Schmitt character, Mike Murphy. No wonder the Republican Party came to stand for nothing in the Bush years and at best, was Democrat-lite.
