Right, which leads to my conclusion.
The larger point is that people complain bitterly about not being able to find a suitable mate, but somehow it completely escapes them that rather than desperately searching for someone to fulfill their needs, they might consider how they can become a person who meets the needs of a potential mate.
The obvious problem is that they think that they already are nearly perfect, and capable of fulfilling the needs of any potential mate - it's just that there are none out there who are "worthy" of them.
