Jay Leno is kicking off the third season of his hit CNBC show in arguably the most Texas way possible on the ranch of former President George W. Bush.
Leno recently went to visit Bush in Crawford and the pair drove around in the former Commander-In-Chiefs trusty 2013 Ford F-150 King Ranch edition pickup to talk about life in McLennan County.
Bush auctioned off his old 2009 truck for charity in January, raising $300,000. It was even autographed inside.
During his visit Leno helped Bush uproot a tree on his 90-acre tree farm and stack some compost bags. Leno also found out that former First Lady Laura Bush calls her hubby Bushy around the house.

Oh, go ahead and get elected, you can change the rules after you get into office. Obama just disregarded the rules mostly and so did Slick Willie.
The total size of the ranch is 1500+ acres.
Still small for Texas
A large Texas ranch is known as “Rhode Island”.
They were saying former Presidents and VPs aren't allowed to drive only up to 6 months after leaving office?
My takeaway from that episode... yes, Biden is a douche. But that is a sweet little Stingray he has there.
Try 800 square miles:
That’s pretty big. Rhode Island as 1,200 sq miles, so that ranch is 2/3 the size of a state.
Jay Leno has a good philosophy about money and work. He has always had two jobs, and would live entirely off the salary of the lower paying job. In his early days, he was also an auto mechanic or something when he was starting out in comedy. Comedy paid less, so he lived on that. Then when he got bigger, he switched to his mechanic salary. When he became host of the Tonight Show, he used his salary touring comedy shows and put his Tonight Show salary away. Jay Leno has never spent a dime of the money he earned as the host of the Tonight Show.
I wonder if W plants trees and brush just so visiting VIPs will have something to do?
STATE of Rhode Island & Providence Plantations = 1212 sq. miles.
Osage COUNTY, Oklahoma, aka Osage Indian Reservation = 2304 sq. miles.
Makes me smile every time I think about this fact. If we get Puerto Rico forced on us as a state, I say let’s keep 50 states by letting MA & CT divvy up RI into a couple of counties to be annexed.
” bought a couple of short seat belt extenders for my 2014 Ram.....problem solved”.
You paid money to solve that problem? Heck, just buckle the seatbelt before you get in and “problem solved”.
No out of pocket expense required!
What a play ground. I grew up on about 80K acres and what a life it was.
From the working life to the play time it is something I will always look back on and say, "Damn, I lived through that".
Spent my summers from 10 years old on pastures (10-12 sections) tending to coming 2 year old steers by my lonesome. Only person I would see is the lady that would bring me chuck once a week. Loved it!!!!! What a life I experienced and grew up loving. Although I got the scars and aches to live with I would not change a minute.
Now I see these "cowboys" pulling their 30 foot aluminum trailers that cost more than my house with quarter horses that cost more than my pickup to ropings every weekend. Never experienced the real cowboy life of roping a 2 year old steer in the brush and tieing it off to the nearest mesquite to doctor screw worms in it's ears.
No Country for Old Men
This was interesting; thanks for posting!
My family was in the farming business, mostly for dairy. 80K acres, I am jealous.
Why so cheap? It requires no thought getting in whether or not you’re going to fasten your belt it makes it easier to fasten and unfasten as it sticks up higher (I have center consoles in all my cars. Bench seats might be a bit dicey to slide over ). And you can get a pair in 2 days for about 15 bucks on Amazon. Pocket change
You can disable the dinger, it tells you how in the manual.
His enthusiasm is infectious. And the fact that he drives his cars is so great. Lucky duck.
I did that on a car via the programming once. For some reason it disabled other stuff too. Anyway depends on how ‘safely’ the lawyers insist the car must be engineered.
From that picture I thought it was Barbara Bush (W’s mom) riding around with him. But it’s actually Jay Leno.
Worked fine on our ‘13 F-150, and our ‘09 Mustang when we had it. Now I just get the dash light for a few minutes ‘till it goes out. I wear it most the time anyway, which was a good thing when I was hit head on a while back (in an ‘11 F-150). The truck took the beating so I didn’t have to, and I walked away.
My dogs would occasionally excavate out in the pasture, I always wore my seatbelt tooling around the farm, kept me from cracking my head on the roof a few times.
I'm sure Biker Barb is up in Kennebunkport.
