With a notable exception being the recent patch due to ransomeware, Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft. So, I’m guessing when your computer does die it’s more likely to be bugaboos than hardware. But I wish you luck either way my friend!

Understood. Windows Defender still gets updates and my browsers are kept updated. I try to use common sense when on line so I may luck out.

Keep all important files (and a huge music collection) backed up on external drive that is only connected for doing backups and is disconnected/off the rest of the time. Also have a Win10 laptop that has copies of all said files so even if the Win7 machine falls prey, it will be more inconvenience than anything else.
