Florida mother ignored 4-year-old's gunshot wound for weeks, police say

A Florida mother is accused of not taking her 4-year-old daughter to the hospital until weeks after the child accidentally shot herself, authorities said.

Shanquisha Lashay Upshaw, 23, of Lehigh Acres, and her daughter were staying at a friend’s house when police said the child shot herself in the leg, according to News-Press.

Moms get great ideas from medical files and magazines, such as: Gonorrhea (GuNORrea) and Syphilis(SiFIlas) for twins, Pajama (PAjuma), and Formica Dinette. I kid you not. I taught in the inner city of Chicago.

I recall an obituary published in New Orleans, around 2002. The deceased was a young black man who already had at least six children - all of them with automobile-inspired names. Tercel, Fiero, Camry, etc.
