I have read reports his fellow officers turned and ran leaving him alone to face the enemy. Ironically he was a rookie. So when in doubt and outnumbered he chose to attack.
Brave man who should be promoted and given a medal/award.

Definitely a good man is he. He would have been much more effective with a Glock 9mm in his hand or Bull pup slung over his shoulder.
I lived in the UK in the 70s. At that time the authority of a British Bobby was respected. They really did not need guns. Times have changed. Deadly force can occur anywhere and not only is the Bobby not respected, he is a target. The Bobbys need guns, all of them!
