If it is a retro show I wonder if there was another reason to include this scene. The smug liberals feel that the masses need to “understand” the new morality. They may have felt that the audience they were attracting needed some time at re-education camp.

I’m sure that’s part of it. The liberal twit that created the show also created Weeds and Orange is the New Black. Both shows started out good, but went flying off the tracks early on and weren’t anything resembling good by the end of their second and first seasons respectively.
Everything I saw after those seasons was nothing more than liberal rants, liberal’s views of what religious people are like, and stupid shock-value schtick (i.e. we ran out of innovative ways to tell a story, so let’s just shock the audience).
Only reason any of her shows catch my attention is due to the unique premise of the story ... but the end result has always been disappointment and disgust.
I’m done with Netflix after this though ... I am completely sick and tired of funding garbage like this even if it’s only ~ $100 a year. I know the twit that runs Amazon is almost as bad, but that “almost” will win vs. funding Netflix’s trash.
Moreover, I used to get the biggest kick out of seeing virtually all of the liberal comedian/documentary ratings with one or two stars ... as another Freeper mentioned, they had to do away with that since the various elites of their church were getting a bit angry.
