Oh, I think you can take credit because you passed on the information and wrote about it in great detail for me. I’m a novice and really needed all those steps.

I will look up those types of apples and see. That makes sense though, because we did have a late frost last year. And you’re right, they don’t keep very long at all. When I picked my species of Apple to plant, I wanted to balance it out so I planted some long keepers, like Arkansas black. I can’t wait to see how those turn out! They are supposed to taste even better after being in storage.

Cayenne in jam?… I’ll have to try it at least once :-)

Arkansas Black is on my list of possible apples for next year. I’m building an orchard of south adapted apple trees.
