I'm off the on-call rotation tomorrow at 8 am, so it's gonna be a good start to the week. God knows, the monkeys on the help desk made my life miserable the first couple of days. I mean, don't call me fifteen minutes after I leave work and I'm in the middle of the supermarket with a shopping cart. Don't call me when I'm in the pharmacy for something low-priority when it's something
you are expected to resolve. And
don't wake up me
and an engineer at midnight because a
third party server is down. I am not here to hold your hand. I think contemporary Tier I tech support has deteriorated to the point where the only technical prerequisites are whether you can turn on your workstation and print your name in crayon.
