Full fuel load going to Italy. Cold fuel on a hot tarmac. Vents have to open for expansion. I have seen 300 pounds leak out the vents from a parked plane. It has to or the rivets will pop like popcorn.
Then don’ t put so much fuel in in the first place. Are there no engineers to figgure this out?
Almost surely not a full fuel load from Newark to Venice.
UA used to run a 747SP from ORD to HKG. They’d fill it until it came out the overflow.
