Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti has proposed building a monorail along the Interstate 405 to connect the San Fernando Valley with West Los Angeles on Tuesday, relieving traffic on one of the world’s busiest and most congested roads.

What a great idea, mass transit, I hope he starts it. I have already been lining up Wealthy Donors to put an initiative on the Ballot to Amend the State COnstitution requiring ALL Persons that can be classified as a “Public Employee” to be Guilty of a Felony for using any means of transportation other than Public Transportation to and from their respective workplaces, it will be coupled with a Companion bill to move ALL State Government Offices to Bakersfield. They should be able to make it on the High Speed Train in 30-45 minutes fr4om Sacramento.
Walt pitched a monorail system for LA back in the 1960s but the city wasn’t interested.

Los Angeles is crawling with bums. Where is all the money going from the last proposition which passed to alleviate that? The situation has even gotten worse since then.
Garcetti lives like a king, no doubt, but is one of those bums. I don’t trust a bum to do anything but steal things.
We’re on the cusp of cheap, autonomous, self-driving transportation for almost everyone, and the Left are obsessed with forcing us onto mass transit, which, of course, the Deep State Ruling Class Elitists won’t use.
Socialism is about heaping as much misery on the people as possible.
Hadn’t thought of that. Do you really think it will be cheap? I feel it may spill in into private car ownership because it just won’t be much reason to buy a car if you’re not going to drive it. But I wonder if cost plus profit wouldn’t be more than just cost l, to the person needing transportation.

Cost aside, monorails make much more sense than light rail. At least they are up off the ground, so they do not interfere with cars and are not affected by traffic jams.
The politicians spent billions and years building to add more lanes in the Sepulvada pass that leads to Los Angeles.
They were car pool lanes! which as anyone who sees them are mostly empty compared to the rest of the lanes. They should open those lanes to all. Next a monorail? maybe add some bike lanes to!
