You mean the babies do not automatically become German citizens if they are born in Germany?

You actually have to have a citizen parent to be considered a German citizen?

In Germany you have the “ius sanguini” (the right of the blood- by heritage) in questions of the citizenship while the US have the “ius soli” (the right of the ground). Complete differences in the legal systems.
