Geoduck clams are gnarly in appearance but truly delicious - grind the necks for chowder and fry the body meat. They can live up to 140+ years and stay in the same spot, three feet down. I have dug many, and that commie skool usurping their name is a crime against bivalves.

He is currently a student.

I would hope this latest instance of leftism (racist hatred) would shock people like your sister and her husband into the cold hard truth of hateful liberal thinking, but I doubt it.

Pretty much, Evergreen was just out in front ahead of the curve.

According to Wikipedia, the motto of Evergreen State College is
Omnia Extares; in English, "Let it all hang out."
That should give you an idea what that place is all about, from its hippie founding on forward. The question is whether the taxpayers wish to continue funding this mess.
Then again, it is the Pacific northwest, so probably yes.

What then do its alumni/ae do about getting jobs after graduation? I can’t see an Evergreen degree as much of an asset in the business world. I guess they go to NGO’s, non-profits and government?

Nephew is white. Straight. Healthy. Upper middle-class kind of wealth. IOW’s... completely screwed and staying home for now.
My sister seeing the light about the hate-filled left ain’t going to happen. True believer. Sad really.

I remember my college professor walking down the hall with Governor Dan Evans to a Evergreen State College commencement address. In the hall was the heavy stench of pot smoke. Evans asked my professor what was the smell. My professor, editor of the Daily Olympian, knew what it was and told him. The Governor's face turned red with embarrassment and could not believe this was going on so out in the open.

Not to mention far away for SE Wash. students but I started there anyway.

My sister & her husband live in Olympia.I also live in Oly. This town is a cesspool of monoculture - theirs.
If there is some one I do not like, I describe myself as to the right of Ronald Reagan. That clears out a lot of riff raff. Quick way to get out of jury duty too ;-)

They fill virtually every city job in Olympia as well as in state agencies here. Inbred.

One of my high school classmates was forced (yes, forced) to go there by his mother. To his day he calls it the worst, most infuriating experience of his life.
Evergreen State has become the American version of Mexico’s UNAM.

You are brave to mention RWR in WA.
Quick update: my nephew updated his FB account with some article on Evergreen and stated clearly that he hated the school and did NOT go there anymore. I cling to the hope that as a bright young man he has perhaps begun to see the light, even from the liberal darkness that is Olympia.
